It took me a long time to be comfortable seeking therapy. I have suffered from sexual abuse, and I have married since the trauma. I was experiencing issues with my husband and I’s sex life because of what happened when I was younger. I was doubtful about speaking to a “professional” about my sex life. I was worried that I would not be able to speak comfortably and freely with Tara. But once the session had begun, I found myself sharing things about this topic that I had not even admitted to myself before. Tara is a wonderful person to talk to about sexual intimacy. Not once did I feel like my privacy was invaded upon as I had expected. Tara understood everything that I was sharing and not once judged me for my feelings, fears, and sexual needs. She helped me to understand my needs and wants. As well as prompted me to make a plan of how to attain them. I appreciate the different approach to “therapy”. This is more like talking to a friend who is extraordinarily good at listening and understanding. Someone who is trained to help you get what you want from your life, without imposing their own beliefs and ideas into your action plan. I could not ask for a better friend, and certainly not a better coach. Because she is a steadfast friend, listener, and interpreter, Tara has helped me to make my sex life fun and exciting, rather than it being a burden.
